Felifrey’s families to meet for the first timeFelicia shared, “Jeffrey’s parents invited my mom to go over to Shanghai for the Chinese New Year, so we’ll be setting off on the second day of the Chinese New Year (January 29) and we’ll be there for a week or so. On the first day, Jeffrey and my mum will be visiting my grandma’s place together.
“It can be considered the first meeting between our families (…) Naturally, I’m a bit (nervous). I’ve already met his parents but I’ll be seeing his extended family and friends that he grew up with. Thankfully, my mum will be coming along with me!” she continued.
While she confessed that it feels very formal and “really quite nerve-wrecking”, Felicia went on that the visit is “not supposed to be that big of a deal because their intention was to see each other during the festive holiday, especially since they miss Jeffrey a lot.”
She has, however, started thinking about what she should prepare for her trip, which she chuckled has had her a tad stressed out. “I’ve been asking Jeffrey about what I should buy for everyone – abalone, bird’s nest,
bakkwa or coffee or
bak kut teh spices… I’m still thinking about it so that’s what’s been on my mind for the past few days,” she laughed.
Following
Sheila Sim’s announcement that she will be tying the knot this year, we asked if Felicia and Jeffrey will have good news of their own to share this year. Felicia said, “I’m really happy for Sheila! Jeffrey and I, we’ll take things one step at a time – I think that’s more realistic!”
Letting on that Jeffrey has yet to pop the big question (“If you want to know when he’ll do it, you’ll have to ask him yourself!”), she ruled out the possibility of a flash marriage and teasingly replied, “You’ll have to wait for the end of the year to see what happens during the year.”
While wedding plans might not be in the pipeline just yet, she let on that Jeffrey’s family has a good impression of her thus far. “His mum is the type who always says what’s on her mind; she hasn’t mentioned anything about wanting us to tie the knot soon, but she’s mentioned that she likes me a lot, so I’m really thankful for that.
