吴薇薇（陈凤玲饰）是个充满朝气，期待能改变别人生命的辅导员。在一次辅导中邂逅一位面对家庭问题但热爱短跑的郑德禄（叶劲维饰）。吴薇薇决心帮助德禄，两人逐渐成为好朋友，同时爱苗也在两人心底种了下来。
What is 2589? Is it the weight of human emotion? Or is it love defined by the number of days? Or is it the distance between two people?
Filled with the can-do spirit, Wu Wei Wei is a school counselor who aspires to be a positive influence and strives to impact the lives of others with her wide-eyed optimism. During a counselling session with the school’s track & field team, she meets Zheng Du Lu, an up-and-coming sprinter who has the potential to achieve great success but is held back due to his familial troubles. As Wei Wei attempts to counsel De Lu on right path, the pair finds themselves increasingly drawn to one another. Will the 2589 day age gap divide them or will they prove that age is just a number?
