8 Days: Here's How Felicia Chin And Jeffrey Xu Took On Shanghai 

Surprise, surprise! Turns out that Felicia and Jeffrey’s love story started way back in 2012. Well, sorta. This picture was taken at Zhongshan Park aka Jeffrey’s childhood playground. Very coincidentally, when Felicia was in Shanghai in 2012 as an exchange student, she lived near this park (though she had never been there before). “We have something in common!” remarks Jeffrey. Fast forward to 2017 and the couple is having dinner at a restaurant in the park with Feli’s mum and Jeff’s extended family.

The couple with their mums at Oriental Pearl Tower (Jeff’s mum; far right). “Both of our mums wanted to go up the Tower. But while buying tickets, we were told the wait was two hours. So, in the end, we just took a photo with the tower in the background instead,” says Feli.

The couple at Sheng Hong Temple. “This is a rare photo of the both of us together as Mingjie is mostly the one holding the camera. Both of our mums were helping us take this photo — one using the camera and the other using her phone,” laughs Feli.

The couple with Jeffrey’s cousin who bought a bouquet of flowers to welcome Felicia and her mum to Shanghai. So sweet.

The couple at the famed Seven Treasures Old Town. “I took this photo for Mingjie and his parents. Mingjie’s dad only sees him once a year and I wanted to leave some good memories for them. So I’ll take family shots of them whenever I can,” says Felicia.

The couple is definitely not PDA-averse. “Sometimes, we take turns to surprise each other by giving the other a peck on the cheek just before the shot is taken,” laughs Felicia.

The couple with Felicia’s mum all geared up for a shopping trip at Shanghai’s major shopping district, Huaihai Road.

Actually, we hadn't put much thought into our outfits [before leaving the house]. We just wanted to keep ourselves warm,” laughs Jeffrey.

Felicia and her mum with Jeffrey’s twin cousins, who are — surprise, surprise — pop idols! The one in pink is a member of SNH48 (Chinese idol girl group and the sister group of Japanese band AKB48) while the one in beige is a member of [pop group] Cherry Girls. “On that day, they kept chasing after Feli, saying they wanted to take a photo with their aunt!” reveals Jeffrey.
